Rumah Bolon Purba recorded as one of the tourist attraction in Simalungun Regency. The house of this ancient kingdom is always busy visited by tourists during the holidays. Bolon house is located in the middle of the forest nature reserves of Pematang Purba Village, District Purba, Simalungun Regency. The cool nature makes the tourists able to remove thirst.
It is said that Rumah Bolon Pematang Purba is a heritage building of Pangultop-ultop, the first Simalungun King. The palace, built in 1515 in Purba subdistrict, is about 170 kilometers from Medan and 70 kilometers from Pematangsiantar City. The palace is believed to be hundreds of years old is a place for the king along with Puang Bolon (consort) and 11 concubines or rice bolon.
Actually the king has 24 wives. While the 12 other wives live in the villages in the territory of his kingdom in Simalungun. Pangultop-ultop or also known as Mr. Raendan is a king who is very skilled in the lead so that his figure was highly respected by the community.
Even Mr. Raendan is known as a monarch who is instrumental in establishing a cultural glory in Simalungun and has been recognized for his leadership. Inside the House of Bolon Pematang Ancient this there are some buffalo horns, buffalo horn is a buffalo horn that had been used in traditional ceremonies Simalungun led by the king. Even the number of horns in Bolon’s house reflects the number of kings who have ruled.
Bolon house was built using wood forest and not wearing nails, but until now still able to stand firmly. Bolon’s house, aside from being the king’s residence palace, still has nine parts of the other building still one united with the main house or the king’s palace.
